I received my undergraduate study in The Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in Music. During my college years, I've also received a Performance Diploma (LRSM) from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
In Hong Kong, I was active as a pianist performing in various venues including radio program. As a scholarship student, I completed Master of Music in Piano Performance at the Pennsylvania State University in 1986. Upon graduation, I was invited by the Macau Government to present a solo piano recital at the newly finished Performing Arts Center of the city.
After moving to California, I continue to study piano with renowned teachers in the Bay Area, including the late Adoph Baller from Stanford University. Over the years, I remain active as a pianist and private piano teacher, participating in many Music Teachers' conferences.
I am a member of the National Music Teachers' Association and Music Teachers’ Association of California, serving at the board of directors of the Palo Alto Branch for since 2011. I am also one of the evaluators for the Certificate of Merit Evaluation. Being a Certified Music Teachers of the American College of Musicians, I've been in the Board of Adjudicators for the National Guild of Piano Playing Audition since 1992. I received recognition in the Piano Guild’s Hall of Fame by the American College of Musicians in 2009.
